There are three offerings you can choose from when working with Gitpod: Free, Core (coming soon), and Enterprise.

This post will help you navigate which offering is best for you, and explore the many additions to Gitpod Enterprise that have entered General Availability since our last big product launch!

Free tier

The Free tier is ideal for individual developers, open-source contributors, students, and small teams who are looking to access the value of standardizing and automating their development environments, but aren’t concerned about usage limitations such as access to a maximum of 10 cloud-hosted development environments.

Core tier (coming in the summer!)

The Core tier is designed for power users or professional development teams that do not require Enterprise features around control or maximum security and compliance and mainly want to use Gitpod as a SaaS offering. This is coming summer 2025! For more information on Gitpod as a traditional SaaS offering, read on here.

Enterprise tier

The Enterprise tier is tailored to organizations with strict compliance requirements. It is self-hosted in your cloud account, has multi-region support, and collaboration is easier through sharing runners and project configurations. It includes all the features you’d expect to see with regards to enterprise readiness, like audit logs and usage insights for enhanced monitoring and accountability, single sign-on (SSO), policy management, and role permissioning for enhanced security, as well as premium support.

Our Enterprise tier now also includes the following features in General Availability:

Custom pricing for Enterprise is available upon request. Contact us to learn more.

Which features do all offerings have in common?

Every tier allows organizations to invite unlimited members and offers the capability to configure development environments using Dev Container and Automations. They also provide users with the ability to create unlimited local development environments through Gitpod Desktop.
