I’m a Gitpod Classic user, what do I do?
Current Gitpod Classic users do not need to take any action. Gitpod Classic is the name of our previous pay-as-you-go plan. It will remain unchanged until September 2025. It will be replaced by Gitpod Enterprise or Gitpod’s free tier in September 2025. Currently, no actions are required from any Gitpod Classic users. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact support@gitpod.io.

I’m a Gitpod Classic pay-as-you-go customer, what happens to my current plan?
No action is needed until September 2025.
Can I use Gitpod for personal use?
Yes! The Free tier is the best way to use Gitpod for personal use. You can run environments locally with Gitpod Desktop, or self-host a runner in your cloud account (this only takes 3 minutes!).
Is anything changing with Gitpod’s Free tier?
Existing free tier users will be able to continue to use their accounts on Gitpod Classic unchanged until September 2025. In September 2025, users will be required to move onto our new free tier. You will still have Gitpod-hosted compute, just powered by a new architecture.
